I have some spots of sticky tar on my rims and I am wondering if I could safely remove them using goo-be-gone?

Go for it i used on body removing left over from double side tape. U know is very good for sticky stuff? W-40 works very good on roof tar. What kind of tar is it?

goo gones main ingrediate is citric acids from orange, so I dont see how it could hurt chrome. Check the bottle, if it can be damaging to chrome it will be on one of the labels, which is true for most all cleaning products

I'd use water and WD-40 to get most of it off. And I'd imagine that Bug and Tar Remover wouldn't damage it either...

The other thing is park the car on sun to soften the tar if it works?

Too cold right now, lol. You're forgetting, it's a NorthEast winter, close to 0 degrees Celcius up here in NJ right now.

honestly though, goo gone isnt all that strong of a gung remover, there are better things out there. I bought this one stuff, same basic idea and use the orange stuff, but it was stronger. I cant remember what it was. I also worked with this gunk remover when I use to detail cars, it worked beautifully but I cant remember the name. Sorry I know that wasnt very helpful lol I'll try to research if I remember

goo gone should be 100% safe for chrome. it's not acidic enough to eat through the chrome plating. You would have to have some serious stuff to mess up the shine on those.
