View Full Version : MOG's Fate...PLEASE READ!!!

ok guys and girls, All MOGers, here is what i am asking of you. some of you might remember the old days when MOG was set up like myspace and had 1000's of members. Now it is pretty much just a forum with just over 100 members. Which do you or did you prefer? Do you like it now or do you like the myspace feel of the site? why i ask is i was starting to work on the old style site, but gave up and just did the site like this. I personally think the site was alot busy when it was the myspace feel, but that is my opinion and that is why i wat yours. Please vote and also post what you like and dislike about both styles and what you would like to see from the site.
My plan is to make MOG once again one of the best Automotive Community sites on the net!

old style seemed to draw more buzz... more conversations to go with. Even if ya don't get the old style, i'm still happy it's back!

Mix old and new. Old style, but keep the myspacer-types off as much as possible. What I mean is, make sure it's JUST car fanatics here, none of that spammer stuff. But yeah, let's see some of them old functions come back!

well it wouldn't be for a few months...alot of work involved , but i would make sure it was even better then before..

Before, we had a profile you could update (that's the page people would go to if they clicked on your sn), you uploaded pics, created groups, etc. etc.

OK ladies and gents, so this is the deal. I am shooting for on or about the 1st of september for the lauch of the all new MOG site. Many great features including myspace like profiles w/ the option of adding multiple cars to your garage and much much more...

just as good in some way and much better in others. Just ask some of the old MOGers how the old site was? I plan on it being even better this time around.

the old MOG blew cardomain out of the water. Why? Mainly because it was WAY easier to get to know people on there, as well as just relax

Thats true I met everyone in mog. much friendier, I had some haters writen on cardomain. thats i don't like about cardomain haters.

UPDATE: Still going strong with the new site. just added the ability to use "myspace backgrounds, contact tables, online icons, etc." so you can really make your profile look hot. still looks like it might be a couple of months but i promise it will be worth the wait.

ok well here is the deal ladies and gents... i was able to complete about 90% of the site this past weekend, which made me realize that i was seriously neglecting my little kids. I am sorry to say but my family comes before anything. You all know that MOG is my favorite thing, but the look on my little girls face beats anything. I will be still working on the site to get it to completion, but it my be a bit longer until that happens. i have alot of features that i am implementing and it takes hours and hours and hours to get everything perfect. Please to all the die hard MOGers...please hang in there. I need your support and with out you, there is no MOG. I hope you understand. Thanks.

btw Wade, you have to bring some MOG stickers out to an event. Also, any locals (this area... driving from NM would be pointless for this event) want to bring some stuff to the Swap Meet in the Spring? Wade, this would be a good opportunity to bring out your civic, sell off some old parts, have the stickers there, and get some good solid publicity for the site. I'm strongly considering renting out the spot, but would like people for Thurs + Fri to hold the spot down for me, and hold down the fort Saturday and Sunday while I have to run off for whatever (can't leave everything out ... damn thieves).
